After nearly a year of hype being built up for the new line of CBD beverages being put on the market by Molson Coors and its joint partner, Hexo, the products are finally on the shelves.
Truss Beverage Co. unveiled its initial line up of five beverages available for sale by consumers. The line has products that contain both CBD and THC and will be sold in Canadian cannabis dispensaries, but not mass retailers at this time.
The drinks themselves contain from 2.5-5 mg of THC for the standard product, while the XMG brand contains 10 mg of THC, which is the maximum dosage allowed by the Canadian government.
Along with other beverage giants entering the industry, the company is looking to target infrequent users of cannabis with new products that don’t rely on smoking anything.
The companies are also working to release an American equivalent into the U.S. market as well.
It is still unclear how popular cannabis beverages will become, with the niche currently only taking up about 1.5% of the market share for the sector. Time will tell as more beverage giants move to launch these beverages through Canada.
