
The Green Organic Dutchman, a Canadian cannabis company, is currently working to slow down their production of marijuana, but plan to continue with hemp production. As this announcement happens, the company is laying off staff at their processing facility in Quebec and suspending production.
HemPoland is a European subsidiary of the company which sells CBD products. While the rest of the company is shutting down, they are still producing. According to BNN Bloomberg they are still employing 100 people at their Gdansk headquarters.
TGOD is reducing its staff and suspending operations at their Valleyfield facility. About 30 employees have been affected by the layoffs. The company is blaming market conditions for the change to their production schedule.
Their CEO, Brian Athaide, made a statement that there were “multiple factors, most particularly the COVID-19 pandemic, are contributing to an environment in which we must be extremely prudent with how we manage our cost structure.”
