Thanks to a new facility, Black Dog Grow Technologies will be able to continue its efforts to develop better technologies for hemp cultivation. The company is a leader in LED grow devices and other high tech grow technologies. They recently got a license amendment from the Colorado Department of Agriculture to start cultivating hemp flowers that are compliant with the 2018 Farm Bill.
The main goal of Black Dog’s efforts is to help maximize the cannabinoid and terpene yields for different hemp cultivars.
Black Dog Technologies has already been instrumental in the growth of hemp. They were responsible for the first full-spectrum LED lighting that made the technology a viable alternative for commercial indoor cultivation. Theirs was the first system that went from the UV to NIR and covered the entire PhytoGenesis spectrum. The new facility will allow them to continue to innovate and refine their growing technologies and methodologies to help produce the best hemp flower possible.
“Research has always been a part of our company’s DNA,” said Noah Miller, CEO, Black Dog Grow Technologies. “This facility will allow us to expand our research into how lighting impacts the growth of hemp/Cannabis plants, giving us valuable insight which we can then use to refine our products and allow growers to maximize their productivity per square foot.”
Black Dog Technologies isn’t doing this alone. They have partnered with companies like Happy Flower Company to help educate and bring their flowers to market. As well as Hawthorne Gardening Company, which is America’s largest hydroponics distributor. Hawthorne has provided equipment like a Quest Dehumidifier and Botanicare Slide Bench system to help them on their mission.
“In working with Black Dog Grow Technologies, Hawthorne is committed to providing the highest quality of products. We are proud to showcase the compatibility and functionality of all the products,” said Jerry Shyong, account manager, Hawthorne. “We are happy to be a part of this hemp research project to demonstrate the leading innovations of products between the two companies.”
